Normal Trash and Recycling Pick Up is Fridays. Oak Ridge Waste is closed only six (6) days per year, unless they choose to delay it one day, which would be reflected on the home page. The next holiday delay is Memorial Day! Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)

NVCOG administers a ten-town Household Hazardous Waste collection region for residents of Beacon Falls, Bethlehem, Middlebury, Naugatuck, Oxford, Southbury, Thomaston, Waterbury, Watertown, and Woodbury. HHW events give residents the opportunity to properly dispose of hazardous materials that are commonly used in the home including paint, pesticides, household cleaners, poisons, and chemicals. The goal of the program is to keep potentially hazardous waste out of local landfills and sewers, providing extra protection for wetlands and waterways. Three hazardous waste disposal days are held annually.

Click here for a list of acceptable and unacceptable items at HHW events.
