TRASH PICK UP FOR 2017:  Winter Brothers pick up schedule for 2017 is posted above.  Normal trash and recycling pick up is every Friday. The next pick up delay will be for Christmas week, pushed to Saturday December 30.

Recycle bins are no longer available from Public Works. Winters Brothers will accept recycling material in any container with a recycle logo on it. Recycle stickers are available at the Beacon Falls Public Library, put them on your trash container for pick up by the recycling truck.

BRUSH DISPOSAL: Brush and bagged leaves may be dropped off at the dumpster at the Town Garage 401 Lopus Road on Friday's from 7:30 AM until 2:30 PM for residents only. Bags must be biodegradable, NOT plastic.

The Bulky Waste Station is normally open on the last Saturday of the month from April through October from 6:00 AM until 1:30 PM at the Town Garage, 401 Lopus Road. Transfer Station is closed for the season.

To use the Transfer Station, residents must have proof of residence stickers affixed on their vehicle’s windshield. Stickers are $2 and can be purchased at the Beacon Falls Police Department or the Town Clerk’s Office in Town Hall.

SAND: There is a container of sand outside of the gate at the Town Garage on Lopus Road available 24/7 so that residents can fill their own bucket.

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)
NVCOG administers a ten-town Household Hazardous Waste collection region for residents of Beacon Falls, Bethlehem, Middlebury, Naugatuck, Oxford, Southbury, Thomaston, Waterbury, Watertown, and Woodbury. HHW events give residents the opportunity to properly dispose of hazardous materials that are commonly used in the home including paint, pesticides, household cleaners, poisons, and chemicals. The goal of the program is to keep potentially hazardous waste out of local landfills and sewers, providing extra protection for wetlands and waterways. Three hazardous waste disposal days are held annually. The dates and locations for 2017 Events can be found below.

Events start at 8:00 a.m. and end promptly at 2:00 p.m.

There is a cap of 50 lbs. or gallons of waste per resident unless arrangements are made in advance. If you think you might exceed this limit, send an email with your name, address, and type of waste to by Monday before the collection date.
