Normal Trash and Recycling pick up is on Fridays. The next holiday delay will be Memorial Day with pick up on Saturday June 2.
Recycle bins are no longer available from Public Works. Winters Brothers will accept recycling material in any container with a recycle logo on it. Recycle stickers are available at the Beacon Falls Town Clerk's Office, First Slectman's Office, and Publice Library. Put them on your trash container for pick up by the recycling truck.
The Bulky Waste Station is normally open on the last Saturday of the month from April through October from 6:00 AM until 1:30 PM at the Town Garage, 401 Lopus Road. Transfer Station is closed for the season.
To use the Transfer Station, residents must have proof of residence stickers affixed on their vehicle’s windshield. Stickers are $2 and can be purchased at the Beacon Falls Police Department or the Town Clerk’s Office in Town Hall.
SAND: There is a container of sand outside of the gate at the Town Garage on Lopus Road available 24/7 so that residents can fill their own bucket.
Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)
NVCOG administers a ten-town Household Hazardous Waste collection region for residents of Beacon Falls, Bethlehem, Middlebury, Naugatuck, Oxford, Southbury, Thomaston, Waterbury, Watertown, and Woodbury. HHW events give residents the opportunity to properly dispose of hazardous materials that are commonly used in the home including paint, pesticides, household cleaners, poisons, and chemicals. The goal of the program is to keep potentially hazardous waste out of local landfills and sewers, providing extra protection for wetlands and waterways. Three hazardous waste disposal days are held annually. The dates and locations for 2018 are on the Town News Page.
