Forward for Korean War veterans; see attachment to apply for medal
At our last Veterans/Military Advisory Council meeting, on August 29, 2016, Congressman Larson talked about his visit to Korea earlier in the month. The Congressman mentioned that the Korean Ambassador would be visiting the First District in October and wanted to present Korean War veterans with the Medal of Gratitude to thank them for their service.
Congressman Larson is pleased to announce that the Korean Ambassador will be in the district on October 14, 2016. During his visit he would like to hold a medal presentation for local Korean War veterans. The Ambassador asked the Congressman to identify Korean War veterans in the area who he can formally recognize at a ceremony.
As such, the Congressman would appreciate your help reaching out to as many Korean War veterans as possible. In order to receive a medal on October 14, the Ambassador needs a completed Medal of Gratitude application (see attached) and DD-214 by October 5, 2016. We will be in touch with a time and location for the event as soon as we can confirm the Ambassador’s travel plans and get a better idea of who will be attending.
Understanding that this is a tight window, we thank you in advance for your help. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or concerns.
